Nike Plans to Scale Back Jordan Retro Releases in 2027

Nike CEO Elliott Hill announced during the company's FY27 Q1 earnings call that Nike plans to reduce the volume and frequency of Jordan Retro releases moving forward, returning Jordan Brand to a scarcity model similar to what's already been done with the Air Jordan 1.

With a packed Jordan Retro calendar already planned throughout 2027, it remains to be seen whether any currently scheduled releases will be cancelled, delayed, or pushed to a later season as part of the scale-back. Nike acknowledged it has been oversupplying Retro product and asking the category "to do too much."
